Not only is it better for your health, but vaporizing weed instead of smoking it can really up your public consumption game. Discreet in smell and appearance, but strong in taste and effect, some vaporizers can even allow you to smoke unbeknownst to anyone else so you don’t have to that person (which is amazing if you are a medical patient). And while buying a high-quality vape might be a slight initial investment, making the switch — especially if you’ve been rolling joints — will save you mucho dinero in the long run.
As the marketplace for vaporizers continues to mature, so is the consumer base. Because of this diversity and with so many pens on the market, we chose our pens because they were simply the best we had ever come across. As you know, pens have so many different functionalities these days and usually, each one delivers differently. From hit/pull, aftertaste, durability, stealth, button quality, mouthpiece quality, style/design and ease of refill it was a journey to choose the best one. With the vaporizer market now thoroughly flooded, we sought to take the guesswork out of the equation for potential buyers. We chose the Jupiter Research L6 as our delivery system because of the ease of use, quality and discreet look/feel.
Not only do we have an impeccably refined product, but additionally we now have a delivery system that ensures a good hit, pull after pull. Just as a pot of pasta will scorch on the stovetop in case you don’t add sufficient water, the best oil on the planet will burn and spoil if the heating ingredient goes dry. Thick, sticky oil wants room to stream, and never all ceramics can deal with it.
The ceramic we use is porous, kind of like a rigid sponge, which gives it the ability to wick high viscosity fluid. When you fire these elements, they just keep on going. They never dry out, which allows us to run higher power and make more vapour, without worrying about burning.
That porous ceramic additionally helps our cartridges breathe higher, guaranteeing that as oil within the cart is vaporized, the air is allowed in to exchange it. Proper respiration is a key to getting each final little bit of oil in a cart absolutely vaporized each time.
The consistency offered by ceramic heating components isn’t simply restricted to a single vape pen. Predictable heating like that offered by our cores can present dependable, reliable heating throughout the entire product line. This ensures our customers get what they came for—the best version of our finely crafted full-spectrum cannabis extract—the first time, every time, no matter what oil they’re using.
HERE ARE A FEW REASONS WHY VAPING IS PREFERRED
- It removes approximately 95 percent of the smoke that is inhaled
- It’s Discreet
- You’ll get more flavour notes and less carcinogen crisp
We’re talking with Rae Brown, full-time mother and cannabis brand guru. If you didn’t know, she designed all of our beautiful product packaging and helped us build our amazing line that you have all grown to love!
How has cannabis been a positive part of your life?
Cannabis is my life. I work and brand cannabis companies! Not only do I get to smoke it, but I get to create all of these amazing brands that all of you have come to love.
I’ve been using full spectrum oils for over a year and it’s amazing how many things it’s helped me with, like sleep, stress, anxiety and most important, smiling and laughing on the rare cheeched occasion!
What companies have you branded and worked with?
Currently I’m a partner in a company that is launching stateside in a few short months called OCIO and I work on KIF’s social strategy and branding. I started at Doja which most of you may know and at one point I had designed the HIKU logo which has changed many times since! I work with Up cannabis from time to time which has also been a blast! Let’s see who else… Burb Cannabis out of Vancouver and many more. Obviously KIF too, It’s been a wonderful journey and so cool to watch it grow and help so many people.
Is branding cannabis different than other industries?
That’s funny. I see all these brand houses that are cannabis specialists? What the hell does that even mean? Then you go to their site and there is one cannabis company that they’ve branded, it’s a joke and people have been so desperate to get into the industry because they see dollar signs. It’s not about that, a brand is a brand and that is the way it is. They all deserve their own types of special attention, regulations, etc.
How long have you used cannabis?
On and off since I was 13! But never really a serious user. However, I lived in the Middle East for 5 years and that made it not possible for that short period of my life. Then I had a child so actually, I guess I went without it for quite a large period of time. Now I’ve been using full spectrum oils for over a year and it’s amazing how many things it’s helped me with, like sleep, stress, anxiety and most important, smiling and laughing on the rare cheeched occasion!
At night Crystal is my favourite because it knocks me on my ass and shuts my mind off!!
So how did you get back into it?
My brother is in the industry and he actually got me the interview with Doja and then one thing led to another. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love my job and I’m fortunate to have worked with a lot of these companies.
Did your parents use cannabis?
My mother uses it now for many things, it’s helped her with a lot of late-stage illness and pain management. Of course when I was young though it was the devil’s lettuce.
What are your favourite KIF products and why?
During the day I only ever use Charlotte’s Web because I’m a mom and I couldn’t function if I overindulged in THC. At night Crystal is my favourite because it knocks me on my ass and shuts my mind off!! I also use Peak on the daily for anxiety or help de-stressing and I love it!!
Many people can’t help but laugh the first time they hear the phrase “cannabis suppository.” But don’t be mistaken: This method of accessing the active ingredients in cannabis is no joke. And the benefits are convincing a growing number of Europe’s medical patients to make the switch from more traditional methods of consumption.
KIF Cannabis Suppositories are made with two simple ingredients: cocoa butter and CO2 extracted Cannabis Oil. Simple and direct, we have found this formula to be most effective. There are more blood vessels in your pelvic region than most places in your body. This means your rectum or vagina is an ideal place to absorb beneficial cannabinoids into your bloodstream.
Since cannabinoids, like THC, are not metabolized by your liver using this method, you will experience little to no psychoactive effects. You may feel a difference in your disposition when using KIF suppositories; you’ll find yourself calmer, relaxed, and at ease.
Cannabis Suppositories are an excellent way to reap the benefits of larger doses of THC. This is ideal for alleviating menstrual cramps, menopausal dryness, lower back discomfort, prostate cancer pain, lower digestive tract spasms and even more demanding afflictions like ulcerative colitis.
What can someone expect to feel after administering a dose?
Cannabis suppositories deliver around 80 percent of the plant medicine while taking cannabis orally delivers around 35 percent and smoking around 15 percent. For serious conditions, “back door medicine,” or rectal delivery of cannabis, provides the greatest amount of plant medicine delivered with zero head high. This provides maximum medicine with maximum relief and no known side-effects. Within 10 to 15 minutes, people notice they feel uplifted and better, simply because they are not focusing on the pain and discomfort.
Cannabis suppository plant medicine allows the body to activate its own endocannabinoid system and relieve its own pain, allowing the body an opportunity to heal itself. Everybody is different. Intuition and listening to one’s own body is a big key to this. Finding the right dose can take some time and patience. Our western minds want a “quick fix” and this approach to plant medicine can inhibit the body from figuring out what dose it needs to effectively activate the endocannabinoid system. Communication with our body and with our caregiver is important. Navigating through the pain and increasing dosages one step at a time allows us to find the sweet spot.
Why don’t cannabis suppositories give you a head high?
When administered rectally, the plant medicine directly enters the bloodstream through the cell walls and goes directly into the body, which is quickly distributed through the vascular system. It is a direct application to the bloodstream, bypassing the liver. The liver is key to getting high. THC travels through the liver to the brain to induce a head high. When smoked, it travels through the lungs to the villi, then on to the liver. When taking it orally, it makes its way to the liver through digestion. This method takes the longest because of the digestive process and the amount of travel it takes to get to the brain. In the brain, THC interacts with nerve receptors, causing euphoria. The bottom line: Cannabis suppositories allow for larger doses of plant medicine without the head high versus smoking and ingesting orally.
KIF is proud to be a British Columbia based online dispensary.
Oral vs Sublingual Ingestion
We have all evolved beyond the bong and our country has now seen a drastic increase in the types of cannabis products available. While smoking may be the most popular, there are a variety of alternative ways to use cannabis both medically and recreationally. The effect, duration, and onset time vary slightly with each consumption method. Many can be combined for synergistic, sustained relief. The correct consumption method for you will be a matter of the desired effect, intensity, duration, and personal preference.
An elixir is a liquid cannabis concentrate derived through CO2 extraction. Elixirs were once the most common form of medicinal cannabis in the United States, prior to their prohibition in 1937. Elixirs are typically administered sublingually – a few drops of the cannabinoid-rich liquid under the tongue is often a sufficient starting dose. Elixirs are available in a variety of potencies and cannabinoid profiles.
Elixirs provide a rapid delivery without utilizing the lungs and allow for consistent dosing. The solution is absorbed by the arterial blood supply under the tongue within seconds. The mucosa lining inside the entire mouth and the tongue itself also plays a role in the absorption process. The effects will be felt within roughly 15 minutes, allowing for easier dose control (relative to edibles). That said, try to leave the tincture under your tongue for as long as possible before swallowing – maximizing quick absorption to the bloodstream as opposed to processing through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. However, for those desiring the edible-effect, tinctures can be added to your favourite drink.
However, it’s well-known and generally understood that the effects of sublingual oil drops last a great deal longer than the effects of vaping, even though they take longer to settle in. For instance, while the effects of vaping may last about 3-5 hours, the effects of a high-quality tincture can easily last between 8 and 12 hours, or even more (keep in mind though that these are rough estimates – the actual duration may vary).
However, if you’re dealing with more sporadic symptoms (i.e. anxiety/panic attacks or acute pain flare-ups) you may prefer a CBD vape since they’re so fast-acting. Whatever the case is, you’ve just got to weigh out your options and make a personal decision that will suit you and your needs in the best way possible.
Why use sublingual dosing?
- Immediate relief – no waiting for digestive tract absorption
- No negative health effects – better than smoking or vaporizing.
- Accuracy – nothing lost in extraction or admin more accurate than tinctures, smoking or eating
- Access and choice – pharmaceutical grade solution at home with own cannabis
- Safety – safer and more reliable than edibles and extracts
- Cost-saving – patients useless, more cost-effective solution
- Discretion – less obvious
If you’re new to the world of cannabis or experimenting with different ways to use it, you’re likely to come across a few terms you don’t understand. For example, you may find yourself asking “What is kief, and what do I do with it?” Simply put, kief (also known as dry sift or pollen) refers to the sticky crystals or resin glands that cover the cannabis flower containing terpenes and cannabinoids. It’s the stuff that collects at the bottom of your multi-chamber grinder after you’ve ground your flower. So what to do with it?
One of the most common uses for kief is to press it into hash to smoke, make tea, or sprinkle on food as a seasoning. Some people also smoke kief from a bowl (though usually in smaller quantities since kief packs a more concentrated punch than flower alone). But making hash and smoking kief directly aren’t the only things you can do with this potent and powerful substance.
LINE YOUR JOINTS AND BOWLS WITH IT
Since you’re grinding your cannabis to use in a bowl or joint, you might as well enjoy the kief that comes with it (or off it, in this case). Lining your joints with kief (also called the “snake in the grass” method) is a way to enjoy the heavy-hitting effects of kief while savouring the flower’s flavour. If you’re feeling brave or have planned on doing very little for the rest of the day, you can also try making a kief time bomb.
“In morocco KIF literally translates to enter a state of dreamy tranquility”
PUT IT IN YOUR COFFEE OR TEA
What better way to streamline your morning “hippie speedball” than by adding kief to your coffee or tea? Once kief hits the steaming liquid of your choice, the heat will activate the cannabinoids, giving you a cup whose effects will last you well into the late morning. As a bonus, kief doesn’t have as strong a taste as flower does, which means you’ll be able to enjoy the taste of your coffee or tea. You can also follow a recipe for an even more delicious and satisfying cup.
MAKE BUDDER WITH IT
Just like you can make infused butter with cannabis flower or hash oil, you can also use kief to produce a stronger end-product. Simply place butter (not margarine) into a crock pot on medium heat until melted completely. Then add your kief and stir every 10 to 15 minutes for 5 hours. Remove the kief butter from the heat and place in a heat-proof container (a bowl). After it cools completely place a lid on the container and put it in the refrigerator to harden.
Have you ever wondered how to use KIF hardware correctly? We’re going to cover everything below and if we miss something on your side, just shoot us an email and we’d be more than happy to help you out!
But First, here is why KIF Cartridges are better than your typical market Vape Pen
Not only do we have an impeccably refined product, but additionally we have a delivery system that ensures a good hit, pull after pull. Just as a pot of pasta will scorch on the stovetop in case you don’t add sufficient water, the best oil on the planet will burn and spoil if the heating ingredient goes dry. The ceramic we use is porous, kind of like a rigid sponge, which gives it the ability to wick high viscosity fluid. When you fire these elements, they just keep on going. They never dry out, which allows us to run higher power and make more vapour, without worrying about burning.
That porous ceramic additionally helps our cartridges breathe higher, guaranteeing that as oil within the cart is vaporized, air is allowed in to exchange it. Proper respiration is a key to getting each final little bit of oil in a cart absolutely vaporized each time.
The consistency offered by ceramic heating components isn’t simply restricted to a single vape pen. This ensures our customers get what they came for—the best version of our finely crafted full spectrum cannabis extract—the first time, every time, no matter what oil they’re using.
How Long Do Batteries Last?
It depends how long and how often you use it. A battery will usually provide enough energy to vape a half gram cartridge on a single charge.
A typical Li-ion battery will lose 20% of its capacity after 300 full cycles. It will continue to supply the same power, but will not last as long between charges.
How Do I Know It’s Charged?
The halo at the end of the Battery device will light up, and remain lit, while the device is charging. Once the device has finished charging, the light tip will pulse 10 times indicating a full charge has been reached, and then the pulsing will stop.
How Do I know When it’s Getting Low?
The light tip on our device will flash when your battery has been depleted. We recommend charging your battery regularly to ensure the best experience. Ensure your battery is fully charged by regularly charging it after use.
What Do The Flashing Lights Indicate When the KIF Device is Charging?
The light tip of our device indicates the charge status of the device.
Indications:
When the battery is low, the light tip will flash 10 times indicating a charge is needed. Please note: when the battery is fully exhausted the light tip will no longer illuminate.
The light tip will light up when the device is charging and will remain illuminated during charging.
When the device is fully charged, the light tip will flash 10 times indicating a full charge has been reached. The light tip will then turn off. If the KIF battery is plugged in to an active USB port and the light tip is not lit, it is fully charged.
How Many Puffs Will It Last?
It depends. Many calculations go into determining how many puffs an individual cartridge will provide. The duration of your inhalation and the type of plant derived extract used each contribute. We cannot guarantee the number of puffs available with each of our products.
Will My Pen Leak at High Elevations?
All cartridges may leak when transported from a lower elevation to a higher elevation. The degree of leakage depends on how full the cartridge is, how large the increase in elevation, and how rapidly the elevation change. To prevent leakage, store the cartridge with the mouthpiece pointing downward during large elevation changes or air travel.
Are the KIF Cartridges Reusable?
No. The KIF cartridges are designed for single use, only. The reason for this is because if you were to refill them the element would eventually get clogged and ruin an entire half gram of oil so we recommend recycling them.
Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are two active ingredients in cannabis. They both belong to a unique class of compounds known as cannabinoids—here are the essential differences. There’s a lot of misinformation about CBD and THC out there. Because of this, we decided to provide a definitive guide. Which strains are the highest in each compound? What do CBD and THC actually do? What aspects of your high do they affect? Read on and find out.
Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are two active ingredients in cannabis. They both belong to a unique class of compounds known as cannabinoids—here are the essential differences. Consider CBD the calm sibling to THC’s life-of-the-party.
“Both CBD and THC interact with the endocannabinoid system in the body, a vital system responsible for pain, appetite, mood, memory, and sleep, to name a few,” says Dennis Hunter, founder of Sonoma County’s CannaCraft, a medical cannabis product manufacturer. “The main difference is that THC is psychoactive, creating the common high associated with cannabis, whereas CBD is non-psychoactive. On its own, it will not cause a person to feel high regardless of the amount consumed.”
The High
THC is the psychoactive ingredient, while CBD is not. Research has shown CBD to have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties without the traditional THC high feeling.
Antipsychotic Properties
CBD has antipsychotic properties. It’s believed that it may protect users from getting too high by reducing the psychotic effects of THC. CBD is also being tested as a treatment for schizophrenia.
Anxiety
Too much THC may cause anxiousness or paranoia. CBD is believed to have the opposite effect. Studies show that CBD works to counteract anxiety caused by ingesting THC, while also reducing anxiety on its own.
Effects on Sleep
Some THC is responsible for most of cannabis’ sleep-inducing effects. However, CBD acts to promote wakefulness. The opposite effects may explain why some strains cause drowsiness while others boost energy.
When taken together with THC, CBD will create a different experience, one that is commonly referred to as the ‘Entourage Effect’. “CBD works best in conjunction with THC. Even small amounts of THC can help to optimize the benefits of CBD,” says Hunter. The ratio of CBD to THC can be adjusted to help treat different ailments: more THC may be helpful for extreme pain, while a high-CBD and low-THC product is more appropriate for treating anxiety or chronic pain throughout the day. “Being able to adjust the CBD to THC ratio allows patients to customize their treatment to meet their unique needs,” he says.
Our team is particularly proud of our oils. We use full spectrum oils because research has repeatedly shown that full spectrum cannabinoids, terpenoids, flavonoids, and various other components of hemp/cannabis are far more effective and beneficial together than individually. This in conjunction with 100% CO2 extraction gives us the purest oils on the market.

TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL (THC)
THC refers to a psychotropic cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant. It’s a chemical compound that’s responsible for the euphoric high feeling people experience when consuming Cannabis. Basically THC works by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the brain and nervous system to produce psychoactive effects. When consuming THC, you may experience a range of short-term effects that may include euphoric feelings and can cause anxious feelings for some individuals. If you experience an uncomfortable feeling when consuming THC, your body may react better to a CBD dominant formula.
Scientists have found that THC has a multitude of therapeutic benefits including, but not limited to the following: the ability to fight tumors, sleep aid, appetite stimulant, reduces nausea, decreases pain, and it’s a potent anti-inflammatory aid. Inflammation is an underlying factor that contributes to many modern diseases.
CANNABIDIOL (CBD)
CBD is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. CBD does not appear to have the same intoxicating effects found in THC, but it still has an effect on your body. The medical potential of CBD is amazing! Trials have shown that CBD shows promise for patients with chronic conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, and auto-immune disorders. It’s also been shown to help with inflammation, depression, anxiety, ADD, acts as a neuroprotectant, and much more.
